If the Fender Custom Shop ever needs an example of how a Strat should age, this is it. Beautiful sunburst with wear and weather checking all over.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt's one of the last slab board Strats made: the neck is dated June 1962, right before Fender switched to the 'thinner' veneer rosewood boards. The pots date to week 16 of 1962. There is no body date — perfectly normal in this period — but it's clear that neck and body have always been together.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe neck has a very comfortable medium C profile and is completely played in: a true broken-in feeling you simply can't fake. The three original black bottom pickups sound fantastic.
