1954 Fender Stratocaster (pre production)

Extremely rare early 1954 Fender Stratocaster in very good condition! This is the first year of the most legendary guitar ever made and it is a pre production one (pre October '54)! I got it through my friend David of Brussels Vintage Guitars, who found it 8 years ago in the USA for a major European collector.

The guitar features a stunning sunburst finish with amazing figuerd grain, showing some play wear and aging that gives it the perfect look! It has a great beefy neck with a slight V shape, making it a joy to play. All three pickups are nicely balanced . The sound is truly special, offering a woody, natural full tone that lets you hear the ash. Neck is dated July 1954, body is dated 7/54, and solid shaft pots are from week 29 of '54.

The guitar has had a very well done refret without disturbing the original finish. The short skirt knobs were replaced by an original set of '55-'56 Bakelite knobs due to their fragility, and tipswitch is a later addition.

Comes with its original trem arm, bridge cover and “impossible to find” poodle case in very good shape. This guitar is also mentioned in Werners List.
