1963 Gibson ES-335 factory stoptail
Very nice mid ’63 Gibson ES-335 in very good condition. It has a strong, vibrant sunburst with light play wear and some tasteful checking throughout. This is a perfect-playing guitar and a great-sounding early ES-335, with all the vibe and tone you’d expect from a ’63.
This guitar was bought in 1987 at Charley’s Guitars in Dallas by a Belgian jazz musician, who owned and played it until now. Fun fact, the' 87 $800 receipt is with the guitar!
The guitar is fitted with its original stoptail and ABR-1 bridge. Both original Patent Number pickups are present; the covers were removed in the past, as a previous owner preferred to play the guitar uncovered.
All four original pots are untouched and date to week 33 of 1963. The two capacitors have been changed to a Cornell Dubilier “Greenie”.
The original tuners are back on the guitar; it previously had Grovers installed, with the extra holes now neatly closed.
Comes with its original case black & yellow case.
