1965 Gibson Firebird III Non-Reverse
In the early months of 1965, Gibson acknowledged the enduring preference of guitarists for more traditional designs and introduced the "non-reverse" Firebird. Among the models introduced during that year, the Firebird III stands out with its more conventional body contours and proportions. Nevertheless, it remains a distinctive member of the Firebird family, exuding a vintage Gibson charm that's undeniably cool.
This Bird is in a nice vintage condition. While the body displays some signs of use, it remains in solid shape. It has a beautiful aging and weather checking all over the body. The pick guard show some signs of shrinkage, with a some cracks near 2 screws, but it remains intact. The neck of this guitar is comfortable to play, with a 40mm nut width.
Electrically, everything appears to be original and in proper working order. The pots are dated 'week 39 of 1965'.
